Over the past few months, Microsoft has been hyping up its forthcoming Xbox Series X console, especially when it comes to what the platform can do with backward compatible titles. Just last month, it was stated that the next-gen hardware will be able to improve the frame rate and add HDR to older titles that are playable on the next Xbox. Now, the team at Xbox has further made clear just which games will be able to take advantage of some of these benefits.
Over on Xbox Wire today, it was further broken down as to just what this "Optimized for Xbox Series X" meaning will carry with it. For the most part, many of the talking points in the post are things that we have heard about in the past. These include faster load times, higher frame rates that can reach 120fps, and raytracing implementation.
Perhaps more importantly though, it was laid out just which games will actually be optimized for Xbox Series X at first. Some of these titles such as Cyberpunk 2077, Halo Infinite, and Marvel's Avengers have been mentioned in the past, but now we have a more extensive slate to examine.
Here's the full list of games that Microsoft has confirmed will be optimized for Xbox Series X in the future:

- Bright Memory Infinite
- Call of the Sea
- Chivalry 2
- Chorus
- Cyberpunk 2077
- Destiny 2
- DiRT 5
- FIFA 21
- Gears 5
- Halo Infinite
- Hitman 3
- Madden NFL 21
- Marvel’s Avengers
- Outriders
- Scarlet Nexus
- Scorn
- Second Extinction
- The Ascent
- The Medium
- Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2
- Yakuza: Like a Dragon
It's worth noting that this is just which games are currently slated to receive these optimization updates, too. Microsoft has made clear that this lineup will grow over time, especially as we get closer to the launch of the Series X.
Furthermore, not all of these games will seemingly be optimized right at the release of the platform, either. The optimization updates have previously been said to lie in the hands of the developers rather than the team at Xbox. Games like Cyberpunk 2077, while confirmed to be optimized for Xbox Series X, have also been said to not have these updates release until a bit later on.
As for the Xbox Series X itself, the console is still slated to arrive later this Holiday season at an undetermined date and price. Hopefully, we'll learn more about these specifics when Microsoft holds its next presentation for the platform in July.
