The Xbox Store appears to be getting a facelift at some point in the near future, possibly launching prior to the Xbox Series X, or maybe it'll launch when the next-generation console comes out. Either way, Windows Central has got hands-on with the new look that's seemingly dubbed "Mercury".

Originally, it seems as if @wincommunity were the first to notice the new Xbox Store app. As Windows Central points out, the new design, which you can see in the video below, takes inspiration from the Xbox (Beta) app as well as the updated Xbox Game Bar that's on PC. There are also more animations, some being more notable, others being subtle, but it certainly looks quite nice.

The general content that's available appears to be intact, meaning you'll still get to watch trailers, view screenshots, leave weird reviews, add to the wish list, and more. However, the way the information is presented seems to now be much clearer and less constricted to a bunch of blocks. Mostly, the background shows off a lovely blur effect while still allowing the information to stand out clearly.

At current the footage we're shown focuses primarily on the Xbox Store experience, but whether or not this style will transfer over to the general dashboard is another thing. It'd also be nice if this design is carried over to the Microsoft Store that's available on Windows 10. That's ugly at current.

What do you make of the updated design that will apparently be heading to the Xbox One family as well as the Xbox Series X according to Windows Central? Does the clean sleek style grab your interest or are you a fan of the current state of the Xbox Store? Personally, I'm all for it, and it's reminded me to get my console fixed...or at least replaced.
