Xbox’s Phil Spencer Comments on Halo/Gears of War Crossover and More; Won’t Be at the Game Awards
Microsoft’s head of the Xbox division Phil Spencer is always quite receptive of the ideas he hears from the community, and today he provided a few interesting comments on Twitter.
To the suggestion of a crossover between the Halo and the Gears of War franchise, he definitely gave a more in-depth answer than many would expect:
@U_N_I_F_I_E_D Probably want to change genres if we were going to do this. Not sure it’s in our future but interesting idea.

@U_N_I_F_I_E_D Good brainstorm. Disrupting the expected can lead to cool things. — Phil Spencer (@XboxP3) November 30, 2014
To the request for the ability to pair Xbox One, Xbox 360 and a Windows 10 PC he also gave a rather positive response:
@MeccaWilliam That’s a good idea, give us some time.

Interestingly, he then mentioned that we can expect more special promos for Xbox One from retailers through the Holidays.
@Bird125 The AC bundle runs through the end of the year and you’ll see retailers doing special promos through the Holidays. — Phil Spencer (@XboxP3) November 29, 2014
Fnally, if you were expecting him to walk on stage carrying surprises at The Game Awards on December 5th, it may be time to curb that expectation:
@FHal0_ I won’t be at the VGAs this year, sorry to be missing it.

It’ll be interesting to see if there will be any announcements from Microsoft at the show, or Spencer’s absence means that the house of Xbox will hold its news back from another occasion.
In the meanwhile, what would you think of a crossover between Halo and Gears of War within a different genre? Of course Spencer was far from confirming that something like that will ever happen, but it’s quite intriguing.
