Developer Firaxis and publisher 2K released the latest trailer in a series of trailers showcasing the new units and factions coming to the XCOM 2 expansion, War of the Chosen. Last week the studios released a trailer showing off a new unit, the Warlock, today the team has released a new trailer showcasing The Templar, which can be seen below.

In the new trailer we get to take a closer look at the new Resistance faction, the Templar. The Templar is a rogue warrior that utilize blades as their main weapon. They are able to attack an enemy unit and move to cover immediately after, making them a good assassin type unit. If they kill a unit during this attack they gain focus which makes them stronger as you accumulate it. The Templar’s ‘Volt’ ability allows them to strike a single target but if they have built up enough focus they can attack multiple units.

XCOM 2: War of the Chosen will bring three new factions; the Reapers, Skirmishers and Templars. Each new faction has their own unique abilities and philosophies. The new factions will also provide new hero class soldiers to aid in battle. In addition to the new factions, the expansion will also include new environments and mission objectives.

XCOM 2 is currently available on PS4, Xbox One and PC. War of the Chosen is scheduled to release on August 28, 2017.
