Xeodrifter Confirmed to be Coming to Nintendo Switch by Atooi
Atooi revealed on Twitter that they will be bringing 2014's Xeodrifter to the Nintendo Switch.
Last week, independent developer Atooi confirmed that they would be bringing “at least” three games to the Nintendo Switch this year. Today, they revealed on Twitter that the first of these titles would be their 2D Metroidvania platformer Xeodrifter. Not much else was revealed about the game, with the developers promising “more intel soon,” but it is still neat to see that Atooi is bringing their back catalog of games to the Switch.

For those of you who may not know, Xeodrifter was initially developed by Renegade Kid and released on PC and 3DS back in December of 2014. In 2015, the title made its way to Wii U, PS4, and PS Vita. The game follows an astronaut whose ship is hit by an android, causing him to have to venture through four different planets, gaining new abilities along the way and slowly repairing his ship.
Back in 2016, Renegade Kid shut down, and owners Jools Watsham and Gregg Hargrove created two new companies, Atooi and Infitizmo respectively. Infitizmo gained the rights to the companies 3D games, while Jools Watsham and Atooi retained the rights to the 2D games. This is what allows Atooi to re-release titled like Mutant Mudds and Xeodrifter on Nintendo’s new console/handheld hybrid.
DualShockers will be sure to let you know when more information comes out about the Nintendo Switch port of Xeodrifter. If what Atooi said before was correct, it is likely that we will see the game on the Nintendo Switch sometime this year
