XSEED Announces Publishing of Three Independent Games; Shantae, Touhou and Exile’s End

XSEED Games announced today that they would be publishing 3 games that are coming out in the next few months, including a physical release of Shantae: Half-Genie Hero.

The first one is Touhou: Scarlet Curiosity for PS4. Set in the Touhou Project Universe, the game is an action RPG, similar to the Ys series instead of the “bullet hell” shooters that the series is known for.  XSEED is publishing it digitally this fall.

The next game they  are publishing is Exile’s End for PS4, PS Vita, and Wii U.  Exile’s End is a 2D Metroidvania game with a soundtrack from Keiji Yamagishi (Ninja Gaiden, Tecmo Super Bowl).  It will also be published digitally later this year.

Finally, XSEED announced that they are publishing physical editions of Shantae: Half-Genie Hero for PS4, PS Vita, and Wii U.  It will be releasing physically this fall, and the retail version will contain a “Risky Beats” CD with 20 songs from the game’s soundtrack.  The physical release of Shantae:Half-Genie Hero will retail for $29.99.

All three titles will be playable at XSEED’s booth at E3.  It is cool to see independent games like Shantae: Half-Genie Hero get physical releases, and I hope XSEED can give more niche independent games like the Shantae Series physical releases in the future.
