Ys VI: The Ark of Napishtim has only been available on the PlayStation 2 and the PlayStation Portable for North American gamers, but XSEED Games has announced a release date for the PC version. Fans of the series can pick up Ys VI: The Ark of Napishtim on Steam, Humble Bundle, and GOG for $19.99 (or €17.99, and £13.99) starting on April 28, 2015. For those who purchase the title during its first week of release, you will receive a 15% discount from the original price.

This is not just a straight port of the PlayStation 2 game, as the game has a newly translated script, high-resolution graphics, USB controller support, and widescreen gameplay. Some gameplay mechanics have been tweaked, such as being able to warp among checkpoints, and a new difficulty called “Catastrophe Mode” where you are not allowed to purchase or store healing items, instead they take effect as soon as you pick them up.

To celebrate the upcoming release, XSEED Games has also released a batch of screenshots of Ys VI: The Ark of the Napishtim running on PC.
