Yakuza 1 & 2 HD Edition Is Real, Gets a Trailer

In the past few days we heard rumors about a HD port of Yakuza and Yakuza 2 for the PS3. Today Sega confirmed it by releasing a trailer, a few info and opening the official website.

The new edition will be released in Japan on November the 1st for 5,290 Yen, while nothing is know about a possible western localization.

Besides the presentation in shiny HD, Yakuza 1 & 2 HD Edition will include a few functional changes: loading times will be considerably reduced, it’ll be possible to arrange one’s inventory and storage at every phone booth, and completionists will be happy to learn that once Kazuma Kiryu will have experienced a dish from one of the game’s many restaurants, a visual check will mark it (with the PS2 editions of the games, you’d have to manually write them down in order to remember what you already ate and get the rewards for eating every available dish).

You can check out the trailer below. Since Yakuza 2 is still my favorite of the series, I can’t wait to play it in HD.  You better not disappoint me this time, Sega. I still harbor vengeful feelings about Valkyria Chronicles 3.
