During the Sony Computer Entertainment Japan and Asia press conference being held in Tokyo the much awaited announcement of the platform for the upcoming spinoff of the Yakuza series, Yakuza Ishin (Ryu ga Gotoku Ishin) has been announced.

The game will be, as expected by many, a PlayStation 4  title, marking the debut of the series on Sony's new console, even if it won't be with the usual setting or with the series' legendary protagonist Kazuma Kiryu.

Surprisingly enough, though, it will also be available on PS3 and will be a PS4 launch title, released on February the 22nd in Japan.

"Cross Play" with the PS Vita has also been mentioned, but no details have been given on its features. It could just mean "Remote Play", but in that case there would be no reason to call it with another name. In any case, the only officially listed native platforms are PS4 and PS3.

Below you can check out the first trailer shown at the conference. More details will be announced at the Tokyo Game Show.
