A few days ago fans of the Yakuza series were treated to the much-anticipated announcement of the western localization of Yakuza Kiwami 2.
The trailer was presented at an art exhibition dedicated to the upcoming Yakuza 6 and was welcomed by the crowd in attendance with cheering that defied the decibel limits.
Apparently, Sega decided that such a welcome warranted an extended cut, which was released today, showing more of the upcoming full remake of Yakuza 2, that many (me included) hail as the best game of the whole series.
Yakuza Kiwami 2 retells the story of the classic PS2 game from 2006 by utilizing Yakuza 6‘s new PS4-native Dragon Engine, including the addition of plenty of original content. Having played the Japanese version, I can say that it’s definitely worthy of the original’s fame.
You can check it out below since it’s definitely great. The game will release in the west on August 28th exclusively for PS4.
