Yakuza Kiwami 2 is one of the best video games ever made. Not only does it capture that classic Yakuza style and humor, but it introduces one of gaming best villain in Ryuji Goda. It is Yakuza at its best. Kiwami 2 expertly mixing wacky shenanigans with compelling story-telling and fun combat. And now, Xbox One players will finally have a chance to enjoy the story of the two dragons.

If you're only going to play one Yakuza game, Yakuza 0 is absolutely the way to go. However, if you really want to see what the series is about, playing through to Kiwami 2, at the very least, is a great idea. Kiwami 2 is so strong in nearly every aspect. The combat is among the series' best. The hijinks are top class. It has two of the best mini-games in the Cabaret Club and the Clan Creator. Plus, the story and cast of characters are my favorites of the bunch.

So many memorable Yakuza characters pop up here. Kiwami 2 is the start of Daigo Dojima's presence in the series. It also really starts to show Haruka as a character. And then there's Ryuji Goda. That hulking menace is such a perfect foil for Kiryu. A true test for the Dragon of Dojima. Finally, Majima's portion of the story does a fantastic job of wrapping up his tale from Yakuza 0.

Listen, I'm a Yakuza nut. I'll play, and probably love, anything Ryu Ga Gotuku put out. That said, there's something about the series' ability to embrace pure fun that makes them something anyone can enjoy. Plus, you can play the first three games for $10 or less via Game Pass. You can't beat that value.

Yakuza Kiwami 2 comes to Xbox One and Windows 10 on July 10.
