I can’t shake the feeling that the Yakuza series is inching with every release closer to becoming the ultimate video game, at least for those who are aware of just how awesome it is.
That feeling was reinforced by the two trailers of Yakuza Kiwami 2, with which Sega appears to be poised to once more teach everyone else how you should do a remake.
The first trailer you’ll see below is dedicated to the story, the original version of which is quite possibly the best of the series, and that received a new scenario focused on everyone’s favorite wacko Goro Majima.
The second trailer is all about the gameplay, showing the improved combat thanks to the Dragon Engine, the myriad of features including bigger and better Clan Creator and hostess club management, and the inevitable minigames.
This time around Sega went as far as adding its toilet video games (which as much as it may seem incredible to westerners, actually exist in real life), on top of a metric ton of activities, retro arcade games, gambling, karaoke, and even a new and spicy gravure photography play spot.
You can check both trailers below, and bask in pure awesomeness.
Yakuza Kiwami 2 will launch in Japan on December 7th, exclusively for PS4. No western release has been announced for now.
