A few days ago, Sega released Yakuza Kiwami for PS4 and PS3 in Japan, giving fans a full remake of the original Yakuza game.

Since it'll be a long while before it'll be released in the west, assuming it'll happen at all, below you can check out the first hour of gameplay, the full prologue, in shiny 1080p and 60 FPS.

And this isn't simply the same game with new graphics. If you're familiar with the first Yakuza, you'll notice that the first conversation with Goro Majima is much deeper, prelude to a much larger role for the crazy Yakuza in this remake. After the conversation at Serena, there's also a brand new batch of gameplay that wasn't in the first game, showing how Kazuma Kiryu purchases Yumi's ring.

Last but not least, the combat system has been completely overhauled, with four different fighting styles Kiryu can use.

I leave you with the video below. It was recorded with external hardware because, for some reason, Sega blocked the Share feature for the whole game. The reason is really unknown, because there seems to be nothing to hide. It's great.

Incidentally, if you want to get the first glimpse of the Yakuza 6 demo, you can find it here.
