Yakuza: Like a Dragon might be coming to PS5. This month's SegaNama stream included a corner with Yakuza series' Daisuke Sato chatting about how the Covid-19 pandemic affects Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and Sega. He explained how game development has slowed down at the studio and Sega as a whole, but it's still progressing. At around 43:00 minutes in, Daisuke Sato mentioned: "Ryu Ga Gotoku 7, called Yakuza: Like a Dragon in the west, was already announced there. And regarding the western release's *stops* development. Woops, I almost said something I shouldn't yet." He continued later: "There's something more we must develop for the Western release".

Yakuza: Like a Dragon is currently a PS4 exclusive in Japan. The PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X versions were announced for the Western release. So it's highly likely that this "something" needed for the Western release that Sato mentioned is another next-gen version, a PS5 version of Yakuza: Like a Dragon, to go along with the Xbox Series X version.

SegaNama is a monthly live stream with Sega Chief Creative Officer Toshihiro Nagoshi and MC Ayana Tsubaki, sharing news on Sega games, chatting and commenting on subjects bought up by viewers. We systematically cover SegaNama streams on DualShockers.
