Yakuza Producer: PS4 10x More Powerful than PS3; Big Difference in Graphics and Smoother Battles

When Sony Computer Entertainment introduced the PS4, the company boasted that the new console is ten times more powerful than its predecessor. Apparently the legendary producer of the Yakuza series Toshihiro Nagoshi agrees, as he told the local press during a stage event at Taipei Game Show, reported by Game Watch.

Comparing the PS4 to the PS3, performance is almost ten times higher. There’s a big difference in graphics and effects are also beautiful. Battles in particular have become smoother.

He then continued by mentioning that the PS3 version of the upcoming Yakuza Ishin has also improved since Yakuza 5, and it won’t be inferior for gameplay.

Interestingly enough, he also explained that from his point of view of a producer the PS4’s power and features did cause a bit of a headache, as he had to face the challenge of deciding how far to push performance while staying within the budget, but then he joked by saying “I’ll be saved if the game will sell a lot in Taiwan.”

We can definitely hope that Yakuza Ishin will sell handsomely both in Taiwan and in Japan, possibly persuading Sega and Sony to push for a western localization.
