Things are apparently moving at Sega in Japan, as mentioned on Twitter by Producer Masayoshi Yokoyama, who recently delivered Yakuza 6 on the local market.

"In April, a lot of new things have begun. Today is the beginning kick-off for the studio. We'll be even stronger. This last month I haven't been able to check on Twitter because the busiest days of the last few years have been going on. Since so many things are moving that it's scary, I'll let you know what's up some day."

While Yokoyama-san did not provide further hint on what new projects he's working on, back in December he mentioned that 2017 was the year of a first step towards the "future" with the goal of providing a new way to enjoy Yakuza.

It'll be certainly interesting to see what he and his team have in store for us, and we'll keep you posted as soon as anything else is shared.

In the meanwhile, after the recent release of Yakuza 0, western gamers will still be able to enjoy the adventures of Kazuma Kiryu with Yakuza: Kiwami this summer, and with their epilogue, Yakuza 6, early next year.
