Yoko Taro announced he's working on two new games with Square Enix producer Yosuke Saito, as pointed out by Japanese blog Game's Talk alongside several Japanese Twitter users.V Jump and Famitsu is currently holding a "Game industry end of the year party 2020" special talk show stream on Niconico. With several developers appearing. In particular, Square Enix' Yosuke Saito, Yoko Taro, Bandai Namco's Katsuhiro Harada and CyberConnect2's Hiroshi Matsuyama.

Here's a summary of the discussion regarding Yoko Taro and his new games.

Starting the 2:23:00 point on stream, Yosuke Saito explained Yoko Taro and him regularly chat about what to do next after NieR Automata. Yoko Taro also had an idea he really wants to do, but in contrary, Yosuke Saito was really against it. At some point, Yoko Taro explained his project to Yosuke Saito for an hour, which is unusually long for presenting a project, and then they went to drink wine and eat yakiniku together so Yosuke Saito accepted. However, Yosuke Saito regrets it and wishes he could just let Yoko Taro do that game himself. Yoko Taro said the game is really unsettling.

Yosuke Saito and Yoko Taro explained that while this happened around one year ago, the project didn't advance much. And Yosuke Saito still wishes he could just stop doing it right the hell now.

As they were both initially only speaking of a project rather than a game, they also specified it is a game project. They're not even sure what kind of genre the game will be. Viewers joked on chat about how it could be an Otome game. Yosuke Saito denied it but Yoko taro said it could as well turn into one.

Continuing on, Yoko Taro and Yosuke Saito said there's another game they're working on. That one is something they both wanted to do together. Moreover, they first discussed that second game "long before" the one mentioned above.

That's all regarding Yoko Taro's new games.

The stream has just ended after four hours and 24 minutes. Only the first two hours or so were free though, and only Niconico premium account users can watch the full stream. We might have a summary up at some point if time permits.

Yosuke Saito mentioned in his Famitsu end of the year message he's working on a new game. Likely, this is the second game he mentioned on stream.
