We are now under a month from the launch of pinball-platformer Yoku's Island Express, so developer Villa Gorilla and publisher Team17 have opened up pre-orders for the game. In addition, a new trailer focused on the game's story has been released.

Yoku's Island Express takes place on Mokumana Island, which is guarded by the last ancient island deity Mokuma. The titular dung beetle Yoku arrives on the island to become its new postman, but finds that the evil God Slayer has attacked and caused Mokuma to fall into a restless slumber.

In order to save him, Yoku travels across the island, but traversal in Yoku's Island Express happens in a unique way. The game brings pinball mechanics into the mix, with players controls various flippers across the island that can help Yoku reach his destination, spicing up an otherwise standard Metroidvania.

You can watch the game's new story trailer below. Yoku's Island Express is currently poised to launch on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintnedo Switch digitally on May 29 and physically on June 19. If you want to pre-order the physical version of the game, you can currently do so on Amazon.
