Today, developer Playtonic Games and publisher Team17 released a new Yooka-Laylee gameplay trailer introducing the game's mutliplayer.

What was revealed is that Yooka-Laylee will feature 8 unique multiplayer arcade games, all which can be found in dated dino Rextro's Arcade. Players will be able to tackle all of the games solo in a bid to to earn a high score on the leaderboards, or they can engage with each mode via local couch-cop with four player support.

The following brief description of the some of the arcade games you can find was provided:

Compete in the Glaciators brawler arena to collect the most quills, race to the finish line in Kartos Karting, fight for the flag in Blag the Flag, blast away the enemies in shoot-em-up Gun-let Run and traverse both Jobstacle Course and Hurdle Hijinx, plus more! These are just some of the exciting games you can expect to find in Rextro’s Arcade.

It has also been revealed that you will be able to find and collect "special play coins" within Yooka-Laylee’s campaign, which in turn can be used to power up arcade cabinets located within the mysterious book worlds for a chance to some some "sought-after pagies."

Lastly, Playtonic has confirmed that the 3D action platformer's main campaign will support an additional player, meaning if you want you can connect an additional controller and play the campaign with a friend or loved-one (though this second-player option will be limited). The second player will take control of the "Bee Team," and will be able to grab quills and collect and store butterflies when Yooka and Laylee are in need of health or energy boost. Further, they can stop some traps and help players traverse past particularly tricky obstacles.
