Yoshitaka Amano’s Art Will Appear in Final Fantasy XIV’s First Expansion; Will Have a Role in the Story

on November 23, 2014 5:00 PM

Legendary illustrator and character designer Yoshitaka Amano has always been connected with the Final Fantasy series, and his collaboration is set to continue in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn‘s first expansion Heavensward.

During a special episode of the Letter from the Producer Live held at G-Star in Korea today, Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida mentioned that Amano-sensei will be tasked with creating something else on top of the package illustration of the expansion.

This special illustration will actually play a part in the story of the expansion, even if no further details were given to avoid spoilers.

Considering that Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is setting standards for the quality of the story in a MMORPG, it’s hard not to be excited on what the illustration will be about, and how it will interact with the story.
