There will always be a debate over which Pokemon is the best, but we can all agree which Pokemon card is the rarest.

The base set Charizard is the most sought after card to have in your collection and sits at an astronomical selling price for a Grade 10 or 1st Edition print.

It is therefore no surprise that someone wanted to reimagine the OG fire dragon as another type of card in a separate trading card game, but you’re not ready for the results.

Charizard Yu-Gi-Oh Card

Charizard, the third-stage evolution of Charmander, has been redesigned as a behemoth of fire within one, eye-catching card.

The fire border around the card art works just as well in this form to enhance the dragon’s orange body and blue wings. If this print were real, it would be a perfect holo card. Charizard’s fire swirls would also work extremely well with the holo print.

Charizard in Yu-Gi-Oh form is a level 8 Dragon/Effect card with 3600 attack points and 2400 defense points. The dragon can only be special summoned by Charmeleon. Upon defeating another monster in battle, equal damage to the original ATK or DEF of your opponent's monster can be inflicted.

Charizard can also discard one card per turn as well as destroy all face-up cards on your opponent’s side.

Meet the Artist

ChaosTrevor is the artist behind the stunning reimagined Charizard card, and the dragon isn’t the only Pokemon to receive the Yu-Gi-Oh treatment.

The artist's DeviantArt page is dedicated to recreating pop culture character cards in the style of Konami’s trading card game. Final Fantasy, Harry Potter, Disney and Marvel are a few examples of what’s been covered, and each submission is equally impressive.

ChaosTrevor’s four cards reimagining the main characters of Final Fantasy 15 is particularly noteworthy, proving that Noctis, Prompto, Ignis and Gladiolus would make stunning cards.
