During a conversation with Japanese news site Zakzak, Akihiro Hino, the president and CEO of Level 5 confirmed that they have plans to expand Youkai Watch to the west in 2015. He told Zakzak:

We’re aiming for global expansion next year, I think it has appeal as a Japanese-ish fantasy. We’ve already obtained approval from an overseas toy maker, saying it will absolutely be a success.

The original Youkai Watch game was released in Japan on July 2013, which sold over 1.2 million copies. The second installment, Yokai Watch 2: Ganso and Honke has sold over two million copies since its release date.
