DualShockers recently had the opportunity to interview Falcom's President Toshihiro Kondo, thanks to NIS America inviting him as their guest of honor during Anime Expo 2019. While the interview mostly concerned Trails of Cold Steel III's western release on October 22 and the Trails Series in general, I also got to ask about other Falcom games, most notably if a western release for Ys IX: Monstrum Nox is currently planned, as none have been officially announced for now. Here is Kondo-san's answer:

"For now, a western release for Ys IX isn’t planned, as we’re focusing on completing its development and releasing it in Japan."

Needless to say, this doesn't mean Ys IX won't be launching outside Japan, as all recent Ys games have been coming west after their Japanese release. A western release will probably be determined sometime after Ys IX's Japanese launch.

Falcom also announced on Twitter more details regarding Ys IX: Monstrum Nox will be revealed this week, with an update of the game's Japanese official site.

For now, you can listen to the OST samples and watch the latest trailer coupled with our analysis of it, as the trailer heavily hinted at a certain fact about Adol and the Monstrum party members. Details on all the Monstrum have been revealed, we first have White Cat and Hawk, and here are the profiles for  Doll, Renegade and Raging Bull, along with the details on Ys IX's Japanese Limited Edition. The main cast has been detailed as well, and here are more screenshots and gameplay.

Ys IX: Monstrum Nox launches on September 26 in Japan, exclusively on PS4.

Our full interview with Falcom's President Toshihiro Kondo will go live tomorrow.
