Falcom revealed a new trailer for Ys IX Monstrum Nox on this week's Dengeki PS Live stream. Falcom hasn't officially uploaded the trailer yet, so you can find it at the 01h18 time stamp mark of the Periscope stream.

The beginning of the trailer is narrated by Adol, voiced by Yuki Kaji, who clearly has a deeper voice than usual to portray 24 years old Adol. It seems to be narration from the beginning of the story, and Adol asks "Have you ever dreamed of becoming someone other than yourself?".

The video also reveals how battles can be fought inside the city of Balduk itself, as it seems touching portal-like things sends our party members to a parallel world/dimension, with monsters roaming the city as if time stopped.

It was also mentioned that each Monstrum character has a different appearance they use when living in the city of Balduq. It was also pointed out how one of the Monstrum, Raging Bull, and how one of the side characters, Yufa, look extremely similar, and how many fans noticed the similarities between the five Monstrum characters and five of the sub characters who were revealed on the official site. It's been hinted with both this and the dialogue in the new trailer that they're all the same persons.

It's all but confirmed now that each Monstrum, Adol included, has a civilian identity and another self, their Monstrum other selves. This explains why Falcom has been purposely avoiding calling the red-haired character "Adol", as it's technically someone else called the "Red King". It's still unclear how all of this works, besides the fact that another dimension/world is involved.

During the stream, the journalists at Dengeki also mentioned how the Ys female main characters so far who had romantic or romantic-like feelings for Adol all share similar names and how it's a tradition of the series. However, Ys IX Monstrum Nox' Aprilis doesn't have a name like that, so you shouldn't expect Aprilis to be a character similar to Feena, Reah, Lilia, Dana, etc. To take Japanese games terms, Aprilis isn't a "heroine" type of character.

Ys 9 Monstrum Nox was also confirmed to feature multiple costume DLCs. One of the costumes will basically be White Cat cosplaying Dana from Ys VIII Lacrimosa of Dana. New screenshots were published, showing some of the Monstrum's skills.

Lastly, Falcom also published BGMs samples for the mini OSTs available in Ys 9 Monstrum Nox's limited edition and first print copies. A new CM was published as well. You can find them both below.

Ys IX Monstrum Nox launches on September 26 on PS4 in Japan. The game wasn't announced outside Japan yet.

Update: Falcom officially uploaded the 2nd trailer for  Ys IX Monstrum Nox, giving us a higher quality version than the streamed version. You can find it below.
