Ys IX: Monstrum Nox, the latest entry in the Ys franchise will finally make its way to the west next month, but fans who are anticipating the release can get a small taste of what's to come right now with a free demo. The popular JRPG franchise released in Japan in September of 2019.

The demo will give players access to two dungeons showing off a variety of enemies Adol and co will run into along with a taste of the action RPG combat. While you can play the demo as many times as you would like leading up to launch, there is a ten-minute timer to complete it. Even though the JRPG is coming to Switch and PC in 2021 the demo is only available through the PlayStation store. According to fans who have already completed it, your save unfortunately does not transfer over to the full game when it launches in the coming weeks.

Ys IX: Monstrum Nox releases on PlayStation 4 in North America on February 2nd and February 5th in Europe. The title will also be coming to Nintendo Switch and PC later this year. You can pre-order the game right now on Amazon for both PS4 and Nintendo Switch. It is also an important reminder that if you have a PS5 you can play Ys IX on it thanks to backward compatibility.
