Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana for PS4 Gets New Screenshots Showing Dana's Styles and More

Nihon Falcom shares some brand new screenshots of the PS4 version of Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana.

April 27, 2017

Today Nihon Falcom released a brand new batch of screenshots of the upcoming PS4 version of Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana.

The screenshots showcase the three styles Dana herself can take on , and the “EXTRA” skills that she can execute while in these styles. EXTRA skills are executed by consuming the extra gauge that can be filled by performing normal attacks.

EXTRA skills have tremendous power, including high damage and ultra-wide area of effect, but the gauge is then reduced to zero, so it’s important to strategize with the timing.

In addition to this, we learn that it’s possible to explore certain areas of siren island at night. This doesn’t just change the enemies that players will find, but also their behavior patterns.

DUALSHOCKERS VIDEO OF THE DAY

You’ll find sleeping ancient monsters that won’t do anything until disturbed, but will attack viciously when woken. Given the increased number of ancient monsters at night, the danger level is higher, and it’s very possible to be surrounded suddenly

You can check out the screenshots below.

Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana will launch for PS4 in Japan on May 25th. The game will also release in North America and Europe in the fall for PS4, PS Vita and PC via Steam. Unfortunately, we don’t yet know if we’ll get the same bonuses in the west.
