Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution Releasing in Japan Next Month

It seems like Duelists won't have to wait too much longer to play Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution, as it'll release on April 25, 2019.

Well, well, well. It seems like Duelists won’t have to wait long to play a Yu-Gi-Oh! game on Nintendo Switch. Earlier today, a leaked version of the Japenese V-Jump was released and it revealed that Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution, the port of the 2015 Yu-Gi-Oh! game of a similar name will be hitting the Nintendo eShop on April 25, 2019, at least Japan.

According to the leak, the game will include the story mode that includes missions, duels, and cards from every Yu-Gi-Oh! series, including the recently released Vrains. This was previously hinted at in the game’s initial announcement, which stated that the game will use the new “Master Rules.”

The leak also makes mention of a “worldwide server,” which even further hints at a worldwide release for the game. While it was never officially announced, the game was trademarked last week in North America, Europe, and South Korea, so it seems like a Western release is inevitable.

Not many other details about the game’s online mode were revealed, other than the fact that there will, apparently, be a mode that allows you to restrict which cards you and your opponents can use. It seems like you’ll be able to set a rule, for example, that players can only use cards from a specific booster pack.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution has only been announced for the Nintendo Switch. As of the time of this writing, it’s unknown when and if the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game will receive an update bringing it up to the current version.
