Yu Yu Hakusho 100% Maji Battle Gameplay Revealed at Jump Festa
Japanese developer KLab Games is creating a mobile Yu Yu Hakusho title for Japan. The game will see a lot of the original cast return for their respective roles.
A new game based on the iconic anime series, Yu Yu Hakusho, is making its way to smartphones in Japan.
The title, Yu Yu Hakusho 100% Maji Battle, is a five-on-five turn-based battle RPG. The coolest thing about this game has to be the fact that they got a ton of the original Japanese cast to return to reprise their roles. The game will be free-to-play with the addition of in-app purchases. Japanese players will be able to grab the game via iOS or Android devices.
If you’re not familiar with Yu Yu Hakusho, it’s one of the most prominent anime and manga from the 90’s, I personally watched the show back in the early 2000’s when it first aired on Toonami alongside a slew of other awesome anime series. The series follows Yusuke Urameshi after he’s killed in a car accident trying to save a young boy. Yusuke then becomes an Underworld Detective, solving cases involving demons who enter our world. This mobile title will put you and the main cast in a bunch of different scenarios from the show and manga.
As of right now, there are no reported plans to bring the title out West. But with the series celebrating its 25th anniversary, a new animated special is reportedly in works for 2018. So hopefully fans in the West will also get something to celebrate whether that be the new special or the smartphone game… or both.
