Yuji Horii Won’t Direct Dragon Quest X 3.0 Because He’s Busy on Dragon Quest XI; 1080p DQ Heroes PS4 Gameplay Released

on December 22, 2014 6:12 AM

At Jump Festa in Tokyo Square Enix announced the 3.0 expansion to its MMORPG Dragon Quest X. During the panel, that has now been published in its entirety by Square Enix, the developers were asked who was directing the expansion.

The series’ creator Yuji Horii responded that he’s “busy on XI.”

We don’t yet know anything of the next numbered chapter of the Dragon Quest saga. Not even the platforms, even if Horii previously said that it might be “on a big screen.”

If you’re more interested in the upcoming Dragon Quest Heroes for PS4 and PS3, the recording includes the direct feed 1080p version of the gameplay showcased at Jump Festa, no more marred by the horribly low resolution and quality of the Nico Nico livestream.

You can find the first chunk of gameplay below at 13:42, a cutscene at 25:50 and more gameplay at 29:00.
