On his birthday, Ex-Sonic Team head Yuji Naka did some teasing for his projects at Square Enix, announcing he's working on an original action game with the company.

He also spoke about how he worries about how much time does he have left to keep working on games. In the Japanese version of the tweet, he specified he has 6 years left until retirement. As they get older, this is something that needless to say many famous developers have in mind. Tactics Ogre and Final Fantasy Tactics' Yasumi Matsuno said something similar a few months ago.

Yuji Naka left Sega in 2006 to create his own studio named Prope, and he later joined Square Enix in January 2018.

I've personally always liked Sonic Team's games from Sonic the Hedgehog 1,2,3 and Knuckles on Megadrive, Nights and Burning Rangers on Saturn, and Phantasy Star Online (which I own every version and Episode of on every console except Xbox), so I'm really looking forward to it.

Yuji Naka also commented some months ago on the allegedly leaked Sonic the Hedgehog Hollywood movie designs.

Yuji Naka turned 54 years old on September 17, 2019. I wish him a happy birthday and am looking forward to more news regarding that action game.
