If you periodically check Steam Greenlight, you will once in awhile come across games some hidden gems. Yuppie Psycho, from developer Baroque Decay (the team behind The Count Lucanor), is one of those gems.

Yuppie Psycho is a a survival horror, adventure, and puzzle solving game all in one, that follows the same basic gameplay template of a variety of classic 16-bit RPGS. Its game design draws inspiration from titles such as Silent Hills, Deadly Premonition, and the recent Yomawari: Night Alone.

The game boasts a retro 90's aesthetic, and features anime-inspired cutscenes "to immerse the player in an atypical horror story." According to the developer, the game contains an atmosphere of mystery and surrealism similar to works from artists like David Lynch and Shinya Tsukamoto, or from films like American Psycho and Brazil. As for it's art design, manga artists Shintaro Kago and Junji Ito are said to be "huge inspirations."

Set in a dystopian 90's setting, with pinches of cyberpunk themes and designs, players will have to break into and investigate the secrets hidden within Sintracorp, the world's most important corporation. Along the way you will have to avoid traps, solve puzzles, explore, and deploy stealth to avoid the various creatures lurking within the company.

Here's a story synopsis and features list courtesy of the game's Steam Greenlight page:

Brian will meet all kinds of odd characters, escape from terrible creatures, and unravel the hidden secrets of Sintracorp’s dark past.
