The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Comes to Life in a Brilliant Animated Fan Video

The world of Zelda comes to life in a new animated fan video that captures the magic and epic scope of Breath of the Wild.

Since it first released at the beginning of 2017, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild quickly gained acclaim and captured fans of the series everywhere with its fresh take on the Zelda lineage, and in a new fan animation, the title comes to life in a striking, beautiful way.

An animated video originating from YouTube by Youyang Kong (in collaboration with Qianya Yin) has been making the rounds online, with the video capturing many of the elements that made The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild an instant classic when it arrived nearly two years ago.

While the video is obviously not officially produced or in tandem with Nintendo in any way, the animation itself is certainly done on a professional-quality level and sure to make fans of The Legend of Zelda series very, very happy.

Notably, rumors of a Zelda animated series have been passed around for quite some time, with the most recent speculation being that the series would be coming to Netflix from Castlevania series creator Adi Shankar. While obviously that hasn’t come to fruition in any way, it’s hard not to watch the fan animation and hope that if Zelda ever makes the jump to an animated series, it would at least match the excellence that we’ve seen from the fan animation by Youyang Kong and Qianya Yin.

In terms of other recent Zelda news, those looking to hop back into some of the older titles in the series now have the chance to experience Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, which was just recently added to the lineup of NES games on Nintendo Switch Online. Likewise, the Zelda series has also popped up in other Switch titles as of late, including the recent release of Diablo III: Eternal Collection and the special Ganondorf armor and skins exclusive to that version of the game.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is available now on Nintendo Switch and Wii U. If you want to take a look at what Zelda can look like in animated form, you can check out the full video below:
