With over 150 Shrines in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you'd be forgiven for thinking that they would get repetitive after a while. Surprisingly, that is simply not true. Every shrine brings with it a new challenge or a twist that changes its requirements meaning they do more than enough to stand out on their own.

Utojis Shrine is a good example of what a unique Shrine looks like. Completing this Shrine requires gathering contextual clues, figuring out what they mean, and then executing a very specific action based on that hunch.

Heading inside the cave you'll find it's filled with Keese. You’ll find a total of 11 Keese in the cave before reaching the shrine. Defeat every Keese you encounter and collect their parts, you’ll need them later.

Once you’ve gone through a long, winding tunnel, you’ll reach an open area with two Zonite Spears by the pond and a tattered book right beside it and a raised platform right beside it that’s strangely flat.

Read the book to find out that if you attach “Wings” to a spear and shoot it through a target, you’ll get a reward. This will start the quest “Legend of the Soaring Spear” in your Adventure Log.

It’s not immediately obvious that the “Wings” in the book are a reference to Keese Wings. However, if you’ve defeated all the Keese so far, you should have quite a few Keese Wings saved up in your inventory. Take one of the wings out and put it on the ground. Equip one of the Zonite Spears and combine it with the Keese Wing using Fuse. If you did it right, the resulting combination should be called Soaring Spear.

Once these preparations are complete, step onto the raised platform. As soon as you step on it, you’ll see a hole on the far side of the cave light up with a blue glow, signifying the target for the throw. You have to throw your Keese Wing-fused Zonite spear through the target.

  1. Press ZR to enter the throwing animation and ready your Zonite Spear.
  2. Stand near the edge of the platform.
  3. Aim slightly above the target and release.

With the Keese Wing attached, the Spear will fly true and soar straight through the hole completing the quest.

As soon as you make a successful throw, the shrine will appear out of thin air by the side of the pond. Head inside to claim a Large Zonite Charge from the chest and a Light of Blessing from the Zonai Statue. With this, you will have solved Utojis Shrine puzzle.

After you complete the shrine, don’t forget to go further ahead in the cave to find more Keese, two regular Like Likes and a Bubbel Frog. This cave is an excellent Keese farming spot if you’re running short on Keese Eyeballs or Wings so remember to mark it in your map for future reference. The Keese will respawn here after every blood moon.
